OK so just been to see the Consultant and he has booked me in for Surgery this Monday!! Will be in hospital for about a week.
Must admit the Scan pictures showing all the leaked Spinal fluid were a bit scary!

Ewww. I don't even want to think about that but this time do what they tell you and don't be pushing too hard or we'll be taking away your ps3. Be well and keep us posted if you can.
Re: The Medical Thread
Good luck with the surgery, at least they're not keeping you waiting long. I'm sure you'll be fine after it, and no more pain.
We'll miss you while you're off, but take it easy and recover well!

Re: The Medical Thread
I have a blood test this morning. I'm rather stone like in my blood giving ability, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed the phlebotomist is a good one and I don't end up with several stabs and bruises.

Re: The Medical Thread
Good luck Jess and hope it goes OK.
I'm quite the opposite as I bleed very well indeed. Infact they have a harder time stopping it than starting it LOL.
I'm off to the Docs this morn as well as if recovering from back surgery is not enough I seem to have also not got some sort of Throat infection since being Discharged on Friday! It's Like trying to swallow Razor blades at the moment as my throat is covered in white spots!!
I'm starting to think it may have been less hasstle if I had just had a body transplant at the start of the year

Re: The Medical Thread
Reading those 2 posts, I'm feeling pretty good with just the usual aches and pains.
Re: The Medical Thread
Just got back from the Docs who just diagnosed I have Toncilitus!
She said it's completely unrelated to everything else I've been through tho and that I'm just a bit unlucky at the mo!!!
Well now tell me something I didn't bloody know
Anyway she has now added antibiotics to my long list of current meds so if I wasn't already rattling then I will be now.

Re: The Medical Thread
Certainly do Shane!
I want the pretty Nurses back as they had it all under very good control last week and i just smiled and said thank you as they pumped stuff into me through out the day and night!
It's a mare now trying to keep up with it all as some have to be taken with food and others on an empty stomach but all have to be taken 4 times a day tho not too close together!
Hopefully by this time next week when I have my Stitches out I will be able to ditch most of them and just pop a good old Paracetemol as and when.

Whatever you do, don't put the boys incharge of your medicine, they might get the bright idea on over-medicating you for the insurance money LOL

Re: The Medical Thread
You need one of those 'old lady' boxes for setting out your pills Daz - the ones with times and days of the week on. Good luck with the throat, at least when it's better you should be well recovered from everything. It would have been worse if you'd got the tonsilitis in a few weeks I'm sure.
My blood test went ok this morning, good phlebotomist this time, she managed to get her fill from me first stab. No big bruises like usual

Re: The Medical Thread
A few weeks!! Bloody hell the last time I had an MRI done the results were on the doc's pc before I could walk back to his office from the other side of the hospital and believe me, we don't have a big hospital here and the MRI is a truck that comes over once every 2 weeks.
Re: The Medical Thread
Wow, a few weeks , lucky you're not really ill then Mot . When I had my scan I had the same outcome as Shane, before I could get back to the Dr's office he was looking at my results

Rosie's cold seems to be hanging in there. She sounds a little less bunged up now, but the cough is stronger than ever
She even had Weds/Thurs/Fri off school last week.

Re: The Medical Thread
When i had the 2 MRI scans done this summer they gave me a CD Rom to take home with the scan results on after I had got dressed again. If I had gone up to the Surgeons office right away he would of had the results before I got there too but I had actually booked my appointment to see him for a couple of days later.
Anyway got my fingers X that they can sort it out for you once and for all.

Blimey, that's a long time to wait. Bad luck, I hope the results are good to make up for it.

Re: The Medical Thread
I have a stomach condition, I get terrible indigestion and have to take a pill every day. It's strange because it also causes nausea that only affects me when I'm vertical (e.g. not lying down) the doctor thinks that it could be linked to stress so I'm screwed when I finally realise that i have to do a crap load of revision and homework to get acceptable marks for my GCSE's!
