Re: The Medical Thread
I have a stomach condition, I get terrible indigestion and have to take a pill every day. It's strange because it also causes nausea that only affects me when I'm vertical (e.g. not lying down) the doctor thinks that it could be linked to stress so I'm screwed when I finally realise that i have to do a crap load of revision and homework to get acceptable marks for my GCSE's!

Re: The Medical Thread
That doesn't sound good Conor. Have you tried taking a teaspoon of bicarb in a small glass of water? Give it a go, you might find it helps a lot.
I had a check up at the hospital yesterday, and they're pleased with the progress I've made after my big op earlier this year. So far so good.
Now, if I could only shift this horrible stinking cold I have I'd be happy

Re: The Medical Thread
My stinking cold is getting on my nerves. I didn't go to work today, and wont be going tomorrow either.
I have a runny or blocked nose - depending on how it works from moment to moment (and look like I could stand in for Rudolph right now too), sore eyes, sore throat, achy all over, and a bad cough.
I'm on my second bottle of Night Nurse, second box of Lemsip Max, second box of Kleenex Balsam, and second bottle of Tia Maria
Anyone want to share

Re: The Medical Thread
Well, Rosie did it again! We've just spent the last 4 hours at A&E to discover she has torn a ligament in her shoulder - at Aikido.
So, she has her arm in a sling for the next couple of weeks, and I'm too pooped to game tonight.

Kids, they need to learn how to sit back on the sofa and do nothing like us old folks. I haven't torn anything more than bread in years.
Re: The Medical Thread
My Daughter Hayleigh injured her wrist playing hockey last week and is wearing a splint for a couple of weeks.
Seems like it could be a very small fracture but it's mainly a really Bad sprain.
Between Myself, Conor and Hayleigh we will be visiting the Hospital 4 separate times next week during the half term holidays LOL.

LOL Daz, I'm glad it's not just my clan
Pretty soon Rosie's Sensai will have me on speed dial, and the school are already recognising my voice when I phone
Maybe we'll end up with our own parking space at the doctors/hospital

Urgh
Apparently my daughter Hayleigh fell over again on the way to school and landed on her injured wrist! Hope she has not done any more damage to it.

Re: The Medical Thread
OK, my cold virus is on the way out now, and Rosie will only be at school for 2 more days, so fingers crossed we'll stay accident/bug free until Monday Shane
Rosie saw the Dr here last night to get a physio referral, then he said he can't refer under 16's so we'd have to go back to the hospital . So, Mummy's doing physio at home with Rosie as from Friday, sod the lot of them

Re: The Medical Thread
hope she is felling better soon
got shoulder MRI scans back at last.. the good news is that i wont need another op, because another one will probably make it worse.
the bad news for me is that i am told i will have to manage with the way my shoulder is now!!! its bloody painful and most of the day i have no feeling from the left side of my neck down to my fingers..all i can do now is go to pain clinic to help manage the pain.(not a happy)
but there are many people out there with allot more probs than me, so i should not moan so much.

Re: The Medical Thread
That doesn't sound good Motley. Try acupuncture, it worked a treat when I broke my back (and it amazed me), physio etc. was a waste of time.

Re: The Medical Thread
Rosie managed another injury yesterday. She was hit in the ribs by accident at school yesterday. Lucky to say - after an hour of sitting quietly and a does of Ibuprofen she was fine

Re: The Medical Thread
I have now been given the All Clear from my Consultant and Physio and will now only need to go back if i get any further problems develop.
I have lots of different Exercises to do on a regular basis to build up my core strength again and need to also get my flexibility and general fitness back up but that will take time.
Also Conor has now been booked in to have a Gastro Endoscopy just before Xmas so hopefully we will then find out what is causing his regular bouts of sickness

Re: The Medical Thread
had appointment for pain clinic.. got lots of lovely drugs to try plus an appointment for acupuncture to look forward to soon.
then i hope to get back to a bit more gaming because i cant hold on to the controller for very long, it gets quite painful.. but i dont think it will make me a better gamer if i could hold the controller properly.
(at least i have an excuse for playing badly)..

Re: The Medical Thread
Don't know what i did or which it is, trying to get in to see the doc, but since Friday I've been dealing witha swollen painful ankle. This is the one I fractured nice and good a few years back, so I don't know if it has something to do with that or with gout. All that I know it hurts like like the dickens.
