As Smurfy's celebrating his birthday a day early I guess there's no point in doing it Saturday Rolling Eyes

So, if everyone can make it - tonight's the night! mexwave

Shane, can you revise and let us know the full rules now please?

Re: Hide and Seek

Post by Shane on Fri Dec 11, 2009 7:00 am

Latest set of rules, and this will be happening tonight it looks like. We are going to try to keep this to the people who have signed up since it's already getting complicated.

The maps will be Sub Base, Highrise, Scrapyard and if we're up for it Derailed. I plan on trying out my new video equipment for this one, maybe I'll actually be able to see what I'm doing while playing this time.

Rules for The Hunted- No shield (damn it !!) no marty. They can defend themselves any way that they chose to.
For the Hunters- Kills can be by knives only, since we have had some practice with throwing knives we can include those. The party host will announce when you can start hunting, giving the hider a short head start.Once you kill the hider you become "It" and can choose whether to stay where you are or kill yourself and go for a better respawn. We may as well go with a Free for all setup rather than having to switch teams after getting killed. Radar will be off. Killing others than the hider will only get you wasting time (and a little pleasure Twisted Evil ) I'd suggest we all take a break after the hider is killed each time to reset and give the new hider time to relocate, even if the new hider gets killed right after making their kill to become it. This mean that mics NEED to be used tonight.

Shane I thought I signed up since the 7th, but I'm not on the list.
Does this mean that it is already closed?
Or are we just going to play with the people that have responded to this?
I've noticed that lately we tend to invite people at the last minute that have not expressed any intrest in the event.
Can you please post the latest list of players for this tonight?

Sorry Terry you did sign up, and being old and feeble minded I neglected to put you on the list.

So far we have....
Me
Jess
Mythus
Rocker
Motley
Badger
Andy (I assume?)

I think we will try to keep this one fairly small since it is kind of complicated. We'll try to set ourselves as unavailable and if private game on your profile, like we did last week and see if we can avoid surprise visitors. Shocked Only if we can thoroughly explain the rules to anyone else will they be asked to join.

Brock, you need those glasses cleaning before tonight sweetie, "Good point JESS" Shocked - Does Smurfy really remind you of me? Laughing

Everyone must have their mic working tonight, we'll need to give the new 'hider' a head start each time (I think 8 seconds would be about right for this - everyone ok with that?).

Thanks for the list Shane and Jess.
Also just so I don't play like the odd man out.
The hunters goal is to be hidden the longest and not to rack up the most kills, correct?
I'm thinking in strictly hide and seek terms, so this is my understanding.
But I'd love to be corrected if I've gotten the wrong idea.

Umm....so is tonight's medal a purple heart for all players? Or maybe just a box of bandages?
Since we will all just be killed on sight.
And do we know who the starting hiders are for each map?

Unless we can figure out some way to determine a winner, yes you are correct sir.

As it stands now Jess will be first hider on Sub Base, Mythus (that's you) will be first hider on Scrapyard, see I was paying attention. We still need volunteers for Highrise and Derailed.

Well that wasn't as easy as it originally sounded but it sure was a great way to explore the maps. Who knew you could lie under a burning truck for that long. I taped everything but I'm afraid it's pretty boring watching me wander aimlessly around the map but I will post the tdm on Rust since I managed to get the settings right for spectating on that one. Smile Oh well it was fun anyway.

You both missed lots - lots of laughing, lots of running around like headless chickens, lots of 'ooo, I didn't know that was here's', lots of swearing, and just a smattering of friends killing each other too Laughing

I thought it was really good fun. I suggest each time a new map pack comes out we play this asap so we can get to know the maps much better (and have fun doing it).

It was a nice to let everyone have a chance to hide as well.

Good idea Andy, thanks!

After carefully reviewing almost an hour of recording I have no idea who our best hider was however, it seems that Mythus did a lot of stabbing and taking over as the hider so for that we have awarded him the Combat Knife Badge. Wear it proudly sir.

Thanks all.
I just noticed it when I posted this morning, and it looks cool.
I guess I should switch my call sign over to backstabber in honor of it. Very Happy
I will wear it proudly.
