Re: NSHQ pets
Our new little friends are so so cute. Just one small issue - Daisy is rather small and now she's realised she can fit through a gap in the hamster cage bars we need to buy a new cage today

Plastic tank purchased, with several layers to it and lots of things to amuse Daisy and Maisy too
Now we just need to make sure the sofa is out of bounds to them, time to put a throw on it when they're out I think
It's odd, most pet shops sell gerbils, rats, hamsters etc. but not mice. Unless, of course, you're looking for frozen ones

They seem to of become more food than pets, i did once see a pet shop have some Kangaroo rats and desert rats which definatly outclass mice in cute factor.

You and your Grandad. The snake couldn't be faulted, it's in its nature
Just decided, nothing can out cute mice, they're adorable

Re: NSHQ pets
Next door's cat has just been run over, what a shame . The last thing it did on this earth is kill one of my biggest koi in my pond, so I can't say I'm too upset.
I've noticed how many birds are in my garden now it's gone too. Sorry, but I really hated that cat
The mice are doing fine, we called them Daisy and Maisy, they're so so cute, much easier to play with than a hamster too

Re: NSHQ pets
OK, after a comment on another thread I felt it a good idea to share a top tip I have...
If you're trying to get dog fur off the carpet don't bother with a hoover. Instead, lightly wet a flat head mop and 'brush' it across the carpet. It rolls up dog hair really well (much better than vacuuming).
You can hoover too of course, but the mop will clear up 90% of the fluff

Re: NSHQ pets
Well after 12 years, I had to say goodbye to Ripley for the last time over the weekend. He was bleeding internally and I couldn't put him through any more suffering. He had a good life and we had some good times together. It's tough getting used to not having him there when I get home from work.

It must be awful Shane, hope you feel better soon, it's like losing a member of the family you love. Keep your chin up.

We had to put Moulder to sleep last year. It was a tough few few month, but we found a little guy at a local rescue. Meet Rusty.

Very nice Gravy. It's not fun but I'll probably be going to the shelter this week to see if there's a cat who will have me.
Re: NSHQ pets
LOL! Cats will have no one! They don't need humans!

So he's still not sure what's going on but Milo made it through his first night and came out for some attention this morning.
Re: NSHQ pets
Don't know, but Milo looks like he has it all figured out to me, making himself at home on the sofa! He may still be wondering where the dog that he smells is!

Re: NSHQ pets
He's actually looking at the window. I came back a few minutes later and he was on the sill checking everything outside.
Re: NSHQ pets
He looks lovely, Rocker is probably right, he's probably wondering where the dog is he can smell. I'm sure he'll be welcoming you home from work and pestering you for food and cuddles in a routine way very soon

Re: NSHQ pets
He has already started. He came out a few minutes after I came home last night to get petted then went off to do whatever it is cats do. Came back an hour later for about 15 minutes. Came out as soon as I got up this morning and had no trouble finding the food when I put it out this morning.
