Re: My own home
The furniture has been delivered and now I'm feeling a little more complete.
First up the office/guest room with it's new futon. Otherwise known as the other end of the living room.
Another view of the futon, or the dog's spare bed now.
The new dining room set.
And finally not as exciting but a new mattress for the bedroom.

Re: My own home
and all that for the price of what my local furniture store wanted for just a futon... including delivery fees.
Re: My own home
It's looking good Shane, starting to come together really nicely.
Perhaps just a couple more things needed - like a headboard, and shoe cupboard?

I still haven't got the paperwork from my lawyer but I guess it's official. http://www.nantucketrealestate.com/NantucketRealEstate/?cat=4 Look under week ending April 4.

Re: My own home
Loft bed has arrived and works perfectly. Turn it on and it fills to the desired pressure, a second silent pump maintains the pressure. Turn it to deflate and it sucks all the air out and shuts down. Less than 5 minutes each way. So here's what I'll call the kids room up in the loft.
and deflated but not rolled up

Re: My own home
'The kids room' has a slight Garry Glitter feel to it Shane, how about 'the crash room' instead? Then it sounds more like a place mates can crash rather than something dubious

Re: My own home
I'm still working on having some stairs made going up there but estimates so far have been higher than I can afford right now. It's about 8' I think.

Re: My own home
Well I finally found a decently priced ladder kit that I liked and have the items ordered for a project in the dining area. Before the flowers all passed I had to grab a picture of the front garden. I take no credit for this, my neighbor seems to enjoy keeping all of this up. I just help to pay for it but it does look great.
Re: My own home
Nice garden, perfect for a good table, chairs and BBQ too
Glad to hear the ladder will be done soon. You'll have nothing to do then lol.

Re: My own home
After 2 weeks of trying I finally got the loft ladder finished and put up. That's one big project on my list done.
Before.
And after, or now, or whatever..

Looking good Shane. It's a bit steeper than the old one so take care when you use it!

Re: My own home
I got my last big project done this afternoon. Now I can take my meals by the side of a lake, something I always wanted to do at my own house.
Re: My own home
Most serene, a lovely place to sit now Shane, especially when the weather's not great outside too!

Re: My own home
Well after over 20 years of renting the same mail box I turned in my key today and switched my mailing address to the house. I guess that means I have to stay here for a while. It was very emotional for the girls at the Post Office, "the end of an era" was used several times while I was filling out the paperwork. Now I just need to inform all those people who mail me crap that I've changed it.
Re: My own home
Be careful who you tell, might mean a lot less junk mail

Re: My own home
I knew it was going to happen, driving home last night I thought to myself that I had enough time to stop by the post office before it closed, to take that off my list of errands I need to run on my day off. Then I remembered I don't have to do that anymore
