Hide and Seek Empty Hide and Seek

Post by Shane Fri Dec 04, 2009 11:10 pm

NatandAndy suggested this last night as we were getting the party together. Hide and seek, 1 person is chosen as the hider. Using only knives you seek out that person and when you stab them you become the hider. Suggestions for a map and any refinements could be added. I think this might be another Friday night gathering. What do we think?

Sounds like a good idea, I'm up for it. Perhaps it can be next Friday's event?

Everyone would have to have a mic on, or we wouldn't know who is hiding otherwise though.

I suggest Sub pens, it seems suitable for this. Highrise maybe ok too.

Okay then I'll add this one to the calendar for next Friday 11/12/09 at about 2300ish for any who wish to join in. with it being on at least Sub Base and Highrise to start meanwhile I'm going to try to figure out the private match thing, I found out today that it can be done I'm just not sure how to do it.

Sounds good, i would think once you have stabbed the hider you should frag yourself so you spawn in a different position, otherwise the rest will know where you are.

Sounds like it could be fun.
Are there any rules for the person hiding?
What can they use for defense, or is it just knives as well?
I think that scrapyard and derailed could also be good maps.
I will even offer to be the "it" on scrapyard, to start out.
Dose the hider get a 10 or 15 second headstart to hide?
I think we should stay away from the wasteland map.

Getting back on topic.....
The maps will be Sub Base, Highrise, Scrapyard and if we're up for it Derailed. I plan on trying out my new video equipment for this one, maybe I'll actually be able to see what I'm doing while playing this time.

Rules for The Hunted- No shield (damn it !!) no marty. They can defend themselves any way that they chose to.
For the Hunters- Kills can be by knives only, since we have had some practice with throwing knives we can include those. The party host will announce when you can start hunting, giving the hider a short head start.Once you kill the hider you become "It" and can choose whether to stay where you are or kill yourself and go for a better respawn. We may as well go with a Free for all setup rather than having to switch teams after getting killed. Do we want radar on or off? I'll leave that to whoever sets the room up.

So far we have....
Me
Jess
Rocker (If he doesn't work late)
Motley (If he can play with one hand Shocked )
Badger
Andy (I assume?)
and anyone else we can convince to join in. Very Happy

Well if it's Friday, I can make it.
But I won't if its on Sat.
Be happy to go first on Scrapyard as the Hunted.
BTW what happens if (by some miracle) the hunted makes it through a whole game without being found. Not that it's likely, but curious. If we go free-for-all then shouldn't we give the hunted a few seconds lead to hide, (since you can end up spawning with a hunter right behind you?

As Smurfy's celebrating his birthday a day early I guess there's no point in doing it Saturday Rolling Eyes

So, if everyone can make it - tonight's the night! mexwave

Shane, can you revise and let us know the full rules now please?
