Here we go with another Battlefield game and here's the first view of it.

FFS when will EA not portray the russians as the bad guys?!, seems like they are moving on to the chinese though. Hopefully the iron sight mount will be available to all guns because thats an actual improvement.

Now here's an interesting editorial on what we're looking at.

Some things out of that editorial to me. I've been playing Army of 2, which is made by Danger Close (who so grandly fucked up MOH Warfighter) put out by EA (I'll hold my tongue there) and using the Frostbite 3 engine so pretty much the same as what they are advertising here and it works for that game. I don't know if it's because they aren't going for the realism so much but literally everything can be destroyed in grand fashion (as Frostbite 3 is supposed to do) and that lack of realism actually makes it fun to play. If I want realism I'll look around myself right now.

Earlier this week EA announced that FIFA 14 will support cross-gen play in Ultimate Team, but sadly the same thing won’t happen in DICE’s Battlefield 4.

DICE confirmed that every version of Battlefield 4 will have its own separate career, meaning that players can’t carry over their kills and rank from current-gen versions of the game to next-gen. All versions of the game will also be hosted on separate servers, so current-gen players can’t go toe-to-toe with users on next-gen systems.

Source- EGM Daily

That kind of answers one of the questions I had about next gen consoles and games. Apparently it can be done but it's up to the game developer as to whether or not they do it.

In case you haven't heard, and do care, the Battlelog setup is supposed to allow you to use a tablet or smart phone as a secondary screen/input device for certain aspects of the game.... along with stats tracking etc. But.....

Battlescreen won't work on PS3 or Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield 4, Battlelog Assistant Producer Jesper Nielsen tells Engadget. Battlelog for Battlefield 4 includes a Battlescreen feature that populates the player's current, live map on a tablet, smartphone or PC – but only when playing the game on Xbox One, PS4 or PC.

"Battlelog is powered by the web, and that has a lot of implications," Nielsen says. "There are a lot of different things you can do, things you can do faster, rather than building stuff in native code."

Battlelog for Battlefield 4 will feature regional leaderboards, will allow players to build weapons loadouts on a secondary screen before starting the game or during wait time between deaths, and will let players change servers mid-game, alongside the standard stats readings.

Sounds like a good feature and one that i have been thinking for awhile now would make good use of the VITA.

Only just seen this comment lol
Well the only reason i gave up on BF3 so early was due to not being able to get into games or when i did it would freeze all the time.
Downloading the Digital copy from PS+ seemed to fix that as it only did that once or twice after.
Maybe my disc was actually faulty.

Anyway i want to be on from the start with BF4 so that i dont miss all the fun.

Oh and can i point out that i won the race to Platinum on BF3 even tho i used the Tortoise method to get it Wink Trophy ROFL

Nice selections in the armoury though the all out '12' designation for the AKs are annoying wheres the AN94, the RPK 74, the AKs 74 and the AK 74/47. Though im just being pedantic yet i can't help but screem  'you forgot my mosin, again!'

Respect for the CZ-75 pistol and more customization.
